Leading Edge has been working extremely hard in bringing huge changes to help enable a greener future. We believe it is our responsibility to ensure that we do what we can to create a better, more sustainable future.
Please see below some of the actions we have taken as a business to make a positive impact.
New state-of-the-art print technology.
We have installed brand new presses in our main facility, which have increased efficiency compared to previous models. This ensures that can reduce runtimes, energy consumption and material wastage.
Zero-to-landfill policy.
Our waste & recycling stream is fully optimised, so that any and all material that we dispose is sent forward to the relevant recycling process.
Working with sustainable materials & solutions.
Our innovation has been focused on sustainability and we have created a more sustainable product range that is aligned with the industry targets i.e. minimum of 30% PCR content in plastic packaging, less plastic packaging, packaging that should be recycled, recyclable or compostable. Our solutions include:
- Mono-film laminate with high barrier properties, making it easier to recycle (for example a PET film on a PET tray)
- Maximise the amount of PCR content (between 30% - 100%)
- Increased functionality to help aid removal of the label from the container
- Films that are compostable
- Reduced thickness thus using less material (light-weighting)
- Non PETG shrink sleeve options
